Mitsuko Nagone grew up in Owase, a small southern city in Japan. She moved to Tokyo and studied photography at the College of Tokyo Visual Arts. In 2002, her work took part in an exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. She then moved to New York City to continue her studies at LaGuardia Community College. Her photographs appeared in the New York Passport and NYC Travel Guide magazines published in NYC and Tokyo.

Currently, Mitsuko contributes to Getty Images, La-vie Factory, and Capanet Works. She is also pursuing her BFA at Kyoto University of Art and Design. Photography remains her passion where she currently exhibits her personal work in area galleries.
